Ferric Carboxymaltose
A macromolecular intravenous iron complex for treating iron-deficiency anaemia in a single, controlled infusion.

Injectable-grade intravenous iron API
Ferric Carboxymaltose is a macromolecular intravenous iron complex used to treat iron-deficiency anaemia, particularly where oral iron is ineffective, poorly tolerated or too slow. It consists of a polynuclear iron(III)-oxyhydroxide core stabilised by a carboxymaltose carbohydrate shell, which allows a large dose of iron to be given in a single, controlled infusion.
Because the iron is released in a controlled manner from the stable complex, it supports rapid replenishment of iron stores and correction of haemoglobin with a favourable tolerability profile — making it a preferred choice for modern IV iron therapy across multiple clinical settings.
How it works
High single-dose delivery
A stable iron–carbohydrate complex enables high single-dose iron delivery.
Controlled release
Iron is released gradually and taken up by the body’s iron-transport and storage system.
Fewer doses needed
Reduces the need for repeated dosing compared with older IV iron products.
Key applications
Iron-deficiency anaemia
Intravenous treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia.
CKD & IBD
Chronic kidney disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
Injectable formulations
Peri-operative, post-partum anaemia and infusion formulation development.

Frequently asked questions
What is Ferric Carboxymaltose used to treat?
It is an intravenous iron used to treat iron-deficiency anaemia, especially when oral iron is ineffective or not tolerated (e.g. CKD, IBD, post-partum, peri-operative).
Is it suitable for injectable / parenteral formulations?
Yes — we supply pharmaceutical, injectable-quality material with controlled specifications for parenteral use.
Does it have a simple molecular formula?
No — it is a macromolecular iron(III)-carbohydrate complex, so it is defined by its iron content and specification rather than a single formula.
Do you provide documentation and bulk supply?
Yes. Full COA, SDS and technical specs with every shipment, with scalable supply and global export.
